The highest governing body of the Association is the General Assembly of Members, represented by the Chief Executive Officers of 14 commercial banks and 1 microbank. The Georgian Banking Association is a non-profit legal entity. The Association was established on August 20, 2018. Its day-to-day operations are led by the President.

The President of the Association leads its everyday activities. In October 2018, Alexander Dzneladze was elected as the President of the Association.
Four Directors, executive, analytical, communications, and open banking sectors, make up the executive team of the Association.
The rule for joining the Association: any legal entity conducting banking activities in accordance with Georgian legislation, owning relevant license and sharing the values and objectives of the Association can become a member of the Banking Association of Georgia.

Alexander Dzneladze has been managing the Banking Association of Georgia since 2018. He
has twenty years of experience of working in the banking sector. Before having been elected as the President of the Association, he was the General Director of JSC Silk Road Bank for four years in (2014-2018). Before having being promoted to the position of the General Director, Mr. Dzneladze worked as the Head of the Corporate Business Department and Commercial Director. During his long-time career in the banking sector, he led credit and investment directions at the Bank of Georgia and Intellect Bank.
Alexander holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Tbilisi State University and Master's Degree in banking and finance from Georgian Technical University.

Giorgi has been working as the executive director of the Georgian Banking Association since 2018. He has a unique experience of 22 years in the banking sector. Giorgi started working at the banking association in 2002, serving at various times as the association's project manager (2002-2012) and general secretary (2012-2018). Over the years, Giorgi has developed invaluable cooperation skills with representatives and management circles of the banking sector, state administration, foreign financial circles, and institutional investors. Additionally, Giorgi served as an advisor to the director of the United Clearing Center. Since 2019, he has been an independent member of the Supervisory Board of the Deposit Insurance Agency.
Giorgi holds a master's degree in computer engineering from Tbilisi Technical University.

David joined the Banking Association team in December 2018. He has 25 years of experience in banking and finance. Since 1999, he has worked at JSC Tbilcombank and JSC Bank of Georgia as a long-term credit risk analyst and head of the real estate financing program implementation team. He was a credit advisor for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) subcontractor company "Shorebank Advisory Services" within the real estate financing program.
At different times, David has served as the deputy credit director (back office) of Republic Bank, the head of the SME lending department, and the deputy credit director (corporate financing) of Kartu Bank. He also held positions as the head of the corporate lending department of JSC Halyk Bank of Georgia and the head of the credit analysis department and first deputy general director of Caucasus Development Bank. David also worked as the financial director of JSC Goodwill and the rehabilitation manager of Tsikvlkombinat Progress. Additionally, David is an independent member of the Supervisory Board of the Deposit Insurance Agency.
David holds a master's degree in banking from Tbilisi State University. He periodically lectures at leading educational institutions in Georgia and is a doctoral candidate in banking at the Faculty of Economics of Tbilisi State University.

Mikheil Kapanadze is the Director of the Open Banking Program at the Banking Association of Georgia and leads the development of open banking standards and their introduction in the country.
He is a co-author of the Law and by-laws on Electronic Documents and Reliable Electronic Service. He contributed to the development of e-governance in the country.
He is still working as an architect of IT large projects. Since 1997, Mr. Kapanadze has been working in the banking, public and other sectors, for local and international projects as a programmer, an architect and the head. He also has 12-year-experience of teaching at higher educational institutions. He taught programming and software engineering at different occasions.
Mikheil Kapanadze holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Tbilisi State University in applied mathematics and computer science, specialty informatics. He also holds a Master’s Degree in computer science from Tbilisi State University.

Salome Makaridze

Salome Makaridze joined the Banking Association in 2021. She heads the communications department and is also the project manager of the sector skills development platform in the association. Salome has 12 years of banking experience, having worked at various times at the Bank of Georgia, Procredit Bank, and Bank Republic, where she headed the product development, strategic marketing, customer service, and business analytics departments. After her banking career, she worked in management consulting and training with her partners, implementing consulting and training projects for many local and international companies.
Salome holds a bachelor's and master's degree in international relations from Tbilisi State University. She also studied at Ruhr University Bochum in Germany.

Inga Karchava is an analyst of the Open Banking Program at the Banking Association of Georgia and leads standardization process. She also manages cybersecurity issues.
Inga has huge experience in information security and payment systems. Presently, working for the Banking Association of Georgia, she also works as information security officer at the Revenue Service.
Before joining our team, Inga held leading positions with payment systems providers such as Georgian Card where she worked as an Operations Director, Head of Risks Department, IT Security senior officer; she also worked as an Operations Director at Direct Debit Georgia. Inga also worked for TBC, HSBC and Bank of Georgia in Operations Departments.
Inga Karchava holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Washington University.

Since 2019, Ioseb has been leading the legal direction at the Banking Association. Over the years, he has managed legal departments in various commercial banks. At Liberty Bank, he headed the banking support department (2018-2019). At the Bank of Georgia, he served as the deputy head of the legal department and head of the non-bank agreements group, after starting as a lawyer in the same group (2012-2018). Before his banking career, Iosebi held various leading legal positions at Tbilisi City Hall from 2005 to 2011.
Ioseb graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Law, with a major in jurisprudence. He completed his studies as a jurist and graduate specialist from 2001 to 2006.
Ioseb is a professional who provides high-quality, results-oriented legal services to the association to achieve common goals.

Nana started working for the Association in November 2021. She is the Head of Administration. Her working experience includes marketing, sales, tourism and hospitality. Nana worked at the Marriott Hotel for ten years in different spheres including customers relation, sales, marketing researches and quality management.
Nana studies sales and marketing at EuroPort Business School in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in foreign languages from Ilia University.

Ani joined the association's team in 2021 in the marketing communications department and is the youngest employee of the association. She graduated from the University of Business and Technology with a degree in Business Administration and Management. Ani has also successfully completed a Digital Marketing Course at Industry Academy, a Content Creator Course at Design Institute, and a Copywriting Course at Digital Industry Academy. Before working at the banking association, Ani completed an internship at Liberty Bank and is also involved in social media management for various companies.
Ani handles media reporting, event planning, online communication, and other communication activities.

Giorgi joined the Open Banking team of the Georgian Banking Association in 2023 as the project's software architect and technical analyst.
Giorgi's professional experience began in 2018. He has worked as a software engineer for companies in Estonia and served as the lead software engineer for an EU-funded personal information security research project at a Finnish company.
Giorgi holds a master's degree in software engineering from the University of Tartu, Estonia.
